The Raedwald Trust Outreach Teaching Service is an exciting new provision formed initially in 2017 in partnership with the Suffolk Virtual School. Until 2019, the outreach programme was a provision exclusively for children in care, however, due to its success and a growing demand across Suffolk schools, we now offer outreach to all children and young people.
With two hubs, one in South West Suffolk (based in Ipswich) and another in North Suffolk (based in Beccles) we serve children and young people from Key Stage 2 through to Key Stage 4. Our provision supports children and young people who have experienced difficulties with their learning and/or behaviour in school. We adopt a fully inclusive philosophy where all students should feel empowered to achieve the very best they can.
Our team works closely with Suffolk schools, social care and the Psychology and Therapy Service to support our children and young people academically, socially and emotionally and to ensure that they are offered the very best life chances despite the obstacles they may have encountered during their young lives so far.
A referral for commissioned outreach support can be made by a child or a young person’s school.
Further information can be found here.
For child in care outreach support, a referral can be made by the Suffolk Virtual School who fund the provision for 42 children and young people across Suffolk via retained Pupil Premium Grant.
