Our Pathways

KS4 Haven Plus D Pathway

KS4 Haven Plus D Pathway Purpose: This pathway is designed for pupils who have been permanently excluded (double PEX) and require full single-roll provision. The focus is on stability, academic progress, SEMH support, and preparation for post-16 pathways.

Pupils start with a placement at the Raedwald Trust supported by the Assessment Centre, where the Trust provides their full education package.

The aim is to equip pupils with the knowledge, skills and confidence required for a successful transition to post-16 education, training or employment.

 Timescales & Support

Placements typically last up to two years.

Support may include:

  • Structured induction and baseline assessment
  • Consistent daily routines and attendance support
  • Small group or one-to-one teaching
  • Supported access to vocational tasters and careers planning
  • Identification and reduction of barriers (SEND, home life, financial hardship, etc.)

 Curriculum

The national curriculum remains central. Where full access is not possible, Raedwald Trust provides a blended programme, including:

  • Readers for Life (literacy development)
  • PE, Health and Wellbeing
  • Life Essentials (independence, resilience, employability skills)
  • Careers education and vocational experiences, tailored to post-16 planning

This ensures pupils continue to progress academically while building practical and life skills.

 Assessment

  • Baseline induction (including Anxiety Toolkit) identifies academic and SEMH starting points.
  • Push/pull factors are tracked across the placement.
  • Interventions are directed via the Assess-Plan-Do-Review (APDR) cycle.
  • Careers action planning and readiness for post-16 are embedded throughout.

Progress is shared regularly with parents/carers and professionals.

 Outcomes

  • Pupils stabilised and supported within single-roll provision.
  • Academic and SEMH needs addressed through a balanced package.
  • Post-16 pathways planned with clear transition strategies.
  • Pupils leave equipped to engage confidently in their next stage of education, training or employment.
