Purpose of the pathway
The Albany Academy Traded Pathway is intended to support any pupil who;
- Is on-roll at an educational setting/home school and/or
- Is currently not attending their educational setting
Timescales
The named educational setting/home school can directly commission the Traded service from the Raedwald Trust. The traded blocks of work (sessions) are commissioned on a termly, half termly or a negotiated basis, to support the students’ needs as directed by the home school.
Curriculum
The Albany Academy will implement the Raedwald Trust’s high-quality curriculum framework, encompassing a broad range of subjects aligned with GCSE requirements. This provision can be delivered to pupils in a small group setting, totaling 12 hours across two days. The pathway is designed to build secure foundations in core disciplines—English, reading, mathematics and PSHE, while also responding to the broader and often complex needs of pupils who face barriers to accessing mainstream education. This approach ensures both academic rigor and holistic support, fostering engagement, progress, and personal development. We are also able to support children on a 1-1 basis in the pupil’s home or in an alternative setting.
Assessment
When the Assessment Centre identifies areas of need, this will be fed back to the home-school SENCo who may direct intervention to be delivered by Raedwald staff as part of the pathway offer. These identified interventions will be assessed according to the APDR cycle, directed by the home-school and in some cases facilitated by Raedwald Trust staff and shared with the parents/carers.
