Purpose of the Pathway
The purpose of this pathway is to support pupils on a one-to-one basis in their home school whilst following the home school curriculum. Session lengths are up to 2 hours (in the morning or the afternoon). The pathway provides safe and stable support within the home school setting to address gaps in learning, enable pupils to access the home school curriculum, and support pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
Timescales
Home schools commission the Traded Service directly from the Raedwald Trust on a termly basis. At the end of each term, a review meeting is held between the mainstream setting and the Headteacher of Albany Academy to evaluate pupil progress, assess the impact of the provision, and agree on any future commissioning arrangements. The number of hours of support is agreed between the home school and the Raedwald Trust and this can be up to a total of 25 hours.
Curriculum
The home school is responsible for providing the curriculum content that will be delivered by an Albany member of staff. The primary aim of this package is to support the pupil’s reintegration into a full mainstream classroom environment.
Assessment
During the induction period, staff will work alongside the Raedwald Trust Assessment Centre to obtain baseline information that will help us to inform future teaching. Pupil progress will be tracked against the baseline and shared with home schools on a 6-weekly cycle. Information will be recorded in a Pupil Support Plan and shared with the home school, and wider professionals where required.
If/when the significant gaps or additional needs are identified, this will be fed back to the home school SENCo who may direct intervention to be delivered by Albany staff as part of the pathway offer. These identified interventions will be assessed according to the APDR cycle, directed by the home-school and in some cases facilitated by Raedwald Trust staff and shared with the parents/carers.
