About Us

Referrals

Referrals to Raedwald Trust can be made in two ways:

Support through School Commissioned Services (these are bespoke packages of support commissioned directly by home schools)

Mainstream schools can complete a school commissioned services referral form located here.

1. The Raedwald Trust Admissions Team meet weekly to discuss referrals via RT School Commissioned Services.

2. A member of the team will contact you to discuss your referral to understand specifically how we can help.

3.  If agreed, the School Commissioned Services team will establish a clear timetable of support for a set period of time.

  • Referrals are accepted and support can begin at any point throughout the academic year.
  • Pupils do not need an EHCP to access support.
  • Pupils will remain single roll with their mainstream school.

Placement on a SCC Commissioned Pathway

1.  Mainstream schools can complete an inclusion service referral form requesting a placement in an alternate provision.  This form can be found here.

2.  Return the form to: APInbox@suffolk.gov.uk

1. Suffolk County Council Alternative Provision Panel (APP) meet every week to discuss referrals.  If the panel feel the request for support is appropriate, the referral is passed on to the Raedwald Trust Admissions team for compatibility assessment.

2.  The Raedwald Trust Admissions Team meet weekly to discuss APP referrals to determine if support is appropriate.  If both panels are in agreement, a pathway place is allocated.

3.  If agreed for placement, an on-roll date and site location will be suggested to APP by the Raedwald Trust (RT); this will then be communicated to mainstream schools by the Inclusion Team.

  • Referrals are accepted and placements can begin at any point throughout the academic year.
  • Pupils do not need an EHCP to access support.
  • Pupils requiring specialist and long-term support are discussed by Suffolk County Council on a separate Specialist Education Panel (SEP) and would not necessarily be put forward for PRU placement via the APP.
  • Prior to placement starting, schools must complete and submit the home school information sheet directly to their identified key contact at the allocated RT setting.  The information on this form enables RT teams to plan provision for CYP; on-site start dates will not be agreed until all required information is received from mainstream schools.  **Former on-roll school will be contacted in the case of PEX pupils.**
