Raedwald Trust Curriculum Offer
At the heart of the Raedwald curriculum offer is the knowledge that curriculum goes far beyond the academic. Curriculum is, in fact, the totality of student experiences within their educational placement and it is this principle that guides us to reflect on how to construct a delicately balanced diet of pastoral and academic learning for each young person in our care.
In order to ensure that all pupils have access to the highest quality teaching, staff across the Trust have worked together to develop a bespoke Trust level curriculum offer, outlining the base minimum expectations of what will be taught within each subject. By working collaboratively, we have been able to share expertise and pedagogy, constructing a deep and vast ranging offer that all pupils across the Trust will benefit from.
The Trust level curriculum outlines the programme of study for each subject and how this content will be sequenced and delivered across the year or Key Stage. The starting point for pupils within this will be determined by their prior experience, their preferred future pathway and the point in their academic career that they join us.
While some sites, depending on their context, may offer an adapted curriculum in order to meet the needs of the pupils that they serve, the Trust level curriculum sets the benchmark for the minimum expectations of any pupils’ learning diet.
