[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]The Engage\u00a0pathway supports pupils within their home schools to re-engage with learning. Placements are delivered solely through Outreach work in the mainstream school, supporting pupils to remain\u00a0a\u00a0part of their school community.\u00a0Pupils will receive four, 2-hour sessions each week.\u00a0Ideally, these\u00a0sessions are two morning sessions and two afternoon sessions.\u00a0The placement length is 12 weeks.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Pupils will access a variety of assessments throughout the first two weeks of placement including:\u00a0Wellcomm, Sandwell,\u00a0Phonics check,\u00a0reading fluency check, sensory check. These assessments will be used to inform a clear baseline of skills\/knowledge and areas of need.\u00a0Gaps\u00a0identified\u00a0through early assessment will be used to plan\u00a0personalised\u00a0precision teaching sessions which will be delivered throughout sessions.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Outreach sessions will consist of in-class support to enable\u00a0pupils to access input and learning tasks, delivered by their mainstream teacher, alongside their peers.\u00a0Gaps\u00a0teaching sessions\u00a0will be used to target gaps\u00a0in learning or specific needs\u00a0identified.\u00a0These sessions may also be used for pre-teaching or providing\u00a0challenge.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

A Thrive session will be delivered during each\u00a0outreach.\u00a0Pupils will be assessed 6-weekly,\u00a0and staff will work from individual Thrive action plans. These sessions include\u00a0a key, mainstream adult to support positive relationship building in school.\u00a0During each\u00a0outreach\u00a0session,\u00a0pupils will also access the Readers for Life curriculum.\u00a0These sessions will work alongside Phonics and reading delivered in mainstream, to increase vocabulary, language\u00a0structures\u00a0and verbal\u00a0reasoning\u00a0skills.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

All induction assessment data will be added to Student Support Plans.\u00a0Key workers will\u00a0then\u00a0add to\u00a0these plans\u00a0weekly to create a narrative around progress against targets.\u00a0Pupils will have targets in key learning areas, in addition to targets regarding\u00a0SEMH,\u00a0behaviour,\u00a0attendance\/engagement.\u00a0Review meetings will occur\u00a06-weekly.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0*Timetables will be\u00a0bespoke\u00a0to pupil need and mainstream rhythms\u00a0to ensure pupils are supported to access key elements in class, whilst also being supported by interventions.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the First Base Engage pathway, schools have access to a\u00a01 hour\u00a0CPD session to be delivered by\u00a0Raedwald\u00a0Trust staff on the home school site towards the end of the pupil’s placement.\u202f\u00a0Topics include:\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
